Make a Change is brought to you by a group of organisations who work together in the borough to help address the many complex issues faced by people who beg and sleep rough.

Rough sleeping is a rising local and national problem and it’s easy to think that nothing is being done – but this is far from the truth.

Along with rough sleeping, Southend-on-Sea has also seen an increase in people  undertaking street begging.

If you or someone you know is homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless, there are several organisations that can offer help and advice.

People are often beg or sleep rough as a result of a number of issues, which can often include physical or mental health.

Although not everyone on the streets suffers from drug or alcohol addictions, this is often a common issue that requires professional help.
